Travel Insurance
Getting insurance is easy. And cheap.
Except if you want to travel to some dodgy countries. My main requirement is to have emergency medical cover and if necessary evacuation cover.
I read of these people who used EssentialTravel.co.uk. They actually used the insurance, and were happy. So thats who we will use.
Problem is, with all insurance policies I've seen, they have a small clause hidden in their policy wording saying they will exclude all cover when "You travel to a country or specific area or event to
which the Travel Advice Unit of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO)* or the World Health Organisation (WHO) or similar body has advised against all or all but essential travel"
For us, that means we wont have cover in

- All of Mauritania
- Northern Mali incl Timbuktu. Southern Mali is fine, incl Bamako
- Northern Burkina Faso
- Parts of Nigeria eg Abia State, to Bauchi State and to Jos and its surrounding areas,
- Cameroon - areas bordering the Central African Republic, Chad and Nigeria, in the region of the Bakassi Peninsula.
- Congo - Likouala province, bordering Equateur province in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Pool region.
- All of DRC
- Angola - interior of Cabinda Province,
and to North and South Lunda Provinces.
